Corporate Engineer

The technical connection between ship and office.

ROLE

As a Corporate Engineer working in the Technical Department, you play a vital role in managing technical issues and serving as the liaison between the onboard and shore teams. Your primary responsibility is overseeing a group of engineers who work on various vessels within the Rivertech fleet in Europe.

Your main duty is to provide technical assistance and support to the assigned group of vessels. You serve as the first point of contact for onboard engineers, addressing technical issues and managing maintenance tasks through an automated tool, which serves as the primary means of communication, monitoring, and control. In addition to office work, you offer remote or on-site assistance as needed. You collaborate with suppliers, subcontractors, and institutions, and conduct technical inspections and surveys on board the vessels.

In addition to day-to-day troubleshooting, you play a crucial role in planning important milestones such as the End of Season, Start of Season, and Winterwork. Leveraging your skills, experience, and expertise, you also provide training to the engineers under your supervision. In specific cases, you may be requested to temporarily step aboard to replace or assist the onboard engineer.

POSITION

In your position, you are part of a small team, led by a Technical Manager, and supervised by the Technical Director. The onboard engineers report directly to you.
