Corporate Fleet Manager

As a Corporate Fleet Manager (CFM), you will work closely with the Captains and Corporate Captains to ensure smooth operations across our fleet of 40 river cruisers. The CFM operates from our operational offices and on board the ships, serving as the first point of contact for our onboard crew and locks & docks managers, regarding all nautical operational matters. Next to that, you are jointly responsible for the implementation and execution of the quality and service standards as required by the authorities or our customers.

Requirements

  • Graduated education within the inland shipping industry, with a minimum of 4 years’ experience as a first Captain/Master on an inland river cruise vessel
  • Owner of all needed certificates and licenses for the responsible operation, all other non-operational licenses are an advantage, but not a requirement
  • Excellent management, organization and communication skills
  • Excellent Team player
  • Guest-focused, stress-resistant, calm under pressure, team player and with professional appearance
  • Open-minded and flexible with high social and inter-cultural competencies
  • Excellent English and German skills (written & verbal), other languages (French, Dutch) are an advantage, but not a requirement
  • Must work independently; has advanced computer skills to create presentations, scripts and projects
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and able to travel extensively (up to 33%) within the target area.
  • Must be willing to be available on-call during unusual business hours

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Track daily water levels, weather forecasts, and nautical authority updates, proactively informing stakeholders and offering solutions.
  • Anticipate and address deviations, staff shortages, and operational issues while ensuring safety and timelines.
  • Serve as the main contact between the office and onboard nautical/technical teams.
  • Manage schedules, oversee recruitment, and ensure licensed personnel are onboard.
  • Act as a backup for critical positions and be part of the emergency response team.
  • Ensure adherence to company procedures, technical fitness, and supply chain efficiency.
  • Conduct audits, enforce safety protocols, and oversee drills, certifications, and compliance checks.
  • Foster a learning culture, mentor staff, and support training initiatives.
  • Lead corporate projects, including new routes, shipbuilding, and regulatory coordination.
  • Represent Rivertech Holding AG and its clients professionally.
